Astute’s Nuclear team is retained by a global engineering and design manufacture leader working in heavily regulated industries, such as nuclear, aerospace, and more. They are looking to recruit a Trainee Electronic Service Engineer for their Seascale site.

Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Office Manager, once fully trained you will:
- Provide high quality after sales support to customers, on a range of Radiometric Equipment located within and outside the UK
- Carry out Radiometric Equipment installation
- Carry out pre-delivery inspection and customer acceptance testing of supplied equipment
- Complete installation and commissioning of equipment at customer specific facilities, ensuring work carried out within budget and timescales
- Provide continual professional service support to internal and external customers by email, telephone and on site
- To recognise and therefore provide quicker rectification of recurring faults, reducing down time and maintaining customer satisfaction
- Coordinate and schedule daily activities in accordance with site preventative maintenance schedules and breakdown assistance
- Ability to conduct site surveys, engineering investigations, prepare reports and devise solutions
- Provide rostered out of normal working hours support to subscribing ‘Emergency call out scheme’ customers
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
- An understanding of engineering drawings and principles
- Vocational qualification Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience in electrical engineering
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to obtain national security clearance to SC level
Personal skills
The Trainee Service Engineer role would suit someone who is:
- Able to frequently travel nationally, on occasions internationally
- A good team player
- Confident approaching customers in a positive manner during breakdowns
- Good at problem solving
Salary and benefits of the Trainee Electronic Service Engineer role
- Starting salary of £30,000-£35,000 DOE, with an increase upon completion of training
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
- Half-day finishes on Fridays
- Paid for travel expenses
- On the job training provided
