About the opportunity
Join our team as an Emergency Relief Coordinator and make a significant impact on coordinating vital emergency relief support and referral pathways. As a key player in our organisation, you will provide crucial support and coordination for Emergency Relief Agency volunteers, working closely with the Administration Coordinator to ensure the smooth delivery of Emergency Relief services, meeting the demands of our valued consumers.
As an Emergency Relief Coordinator, you will:
- Ensure program compliance with service standards and guidelines.
- Provide oversight of referral trends and service demand.
- Oversee storage and distribution of resources efficiently.
- Collaborate with external agencies to maintain referral pathways (e.g., NILS program, Financial Counselling).
- Respond to emergencies in line with organisational values, e.g., bushfire relief.
- Offer hands-on support to volunteers, clients, and stakeholders for immediate client needs.
- Provide leadership, direction, and support to ER volunteers, including rostering and training.
- Support management of ER volunteer staff and a small team of Lead volunteers.
- Assist in collating monthly data for funding body reporting.
- Ensure legal compliance, availability of policies, and adherence to regulatory requirements.

About you
To be successful in your application you will meet the person specification in the position description, including having a relevant tertiary qualification in social welfare or related disciplines.
You will also have:
- Previous experience in a human services or welfare agency, providing direct client services including assessment of needs, supportive counselling and case management.
- Demonstrated experience working with marginalised and disadvantaged groups
- Demonstrated experience in community development including networking and relationship building
- Experience working independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team
- A strong understanding of financial literacy and resilience
