Job Description:

Childrens lives can change in an instant in the wake of war, disasters and humanitarian emergencies. We see how vulnerable they are and how much they need our protection.

Joining our Emergency Response Roster means you can be a part of our response, providing immediate support when disaster strikes.

We are seeking passionate and skilled humanitarian professionals who share our Mission, Vision and Core Values as we help children experience life in all its fullness, even during crises.

Before applying for our roster, please make sure you meet the following requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience with a mix of home country and international experience in humanitarian responses within complex, fragile and conflict related contexts

  • Two years of international experience outside of your home country/local assignment

  • Demonstrated understanding of humanitarian principles, standards and best practices

  • Experience working in high pressure, rapid response environments with multiple risk factors

  • Strong communication skills in English (oral and written) with ability to express ideas and concepts clearly and persuasively with internal and external stakeholders

  • Emotional intelligence (self-awareness, managing emotions and those of others, remaining calm/composed, dealing with ambiguity and change)

  • Ability to work with a reasonable level of comfort in high tension and high security risk situations.

Response Director

Were looking for senior, experienced humanitarian leaders who will use their strong track record in complex crises and fragile contexts and excellent team leadership skills to lead a response from strategy to implementation.

As a Response Director, you will oversee team management, partner relations, risk management and relations with a wider range of local and international stakeholders in a complex, fluid and challenging humanitarian context with a high level of global interest and engagement.

Requirements:

  • You have a minimum of 10 years in leadership roles in the humanitarian assistance and development sector, with a significant portion of this in INGOs.

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent University degree in humanitarian, development, international relations or relevant field. Masters degree or equivalent preferred.

  • Experience in managing humanitarian operations that facilitate innovation and calculated risk taking.

  • Experience in leading a global team of professionals.

  • External engagement at senior level with governments and multilateral agencies.

  • Understanding of the key accountabilities that must be maintained in a response (beneficiaries, donors, peers).

  • Ability to communicate and model positive behaviours which help the staff to remain resilient and effective in dynamic and high-pressure environments.

Operations Director

Were looking for experienced humanitarians who will use their skills implementing multi-sectoral emergency response projects to oversee the effective implementation of the response programmes.

As an Operations Director, you will provide overall leadership to the response operations team. As a member of the Response Leadership Team, you will be responsible for fostering an enabling environment that supports World Visions strategic priorities and imperatives. You will also lead the implementation of the Response Strategy to promote integration and ensure timely, effective implementation of the programmes portfolio of projects in pursuit of Child Well-Being.

You will oversee the implementation of systems, infrastructure, partnerships and capacity building to address core security requirements and staff care, as well as spearhead external engagement in order to position the organisation for sustainment and growth, and to influence and promote coordination with key stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • You have 5-7 years of (mid-level/senior-level) experience with International NGOs in emergency relief, rehabilitation and transition programming especially in fragile contexts.

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in a field related to humanitarian leadership, international development, business administration, economics, rural development or similar. Masters degree preferred.

  • Experience in the implementation of multi-sectoral emergency response projects.

  • Excellent decision-making skills and ability to take calculated mitigated risks.

  • Experience in leading a multi-cultural team of professionals.

Programme Director

Were looking for humanitarian programming professionals who will use their experience in integrated development of donor funded projects with a proven record of winning grants to ensure funding and maintain a high level of accountability to internal and external partners.

As aProgramme Director, you will oversee multiple teams, contributing to the strategy, resourcing, technical and partnering quality of World Visions response. Management oversight includes Grant Acquisition and Management; technical quality; Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL); and Information Management.

Responsibilities include:

  • Raising WVs Response income portfolio, e.g. (public grants, private funds, foundations).
  • Ensuring sterling grant acquisition and management /compliance within the response.
  • Driving strategy design and implementation.
  • Ensuring design and implementation of sound and effective technical best practices and evidence-based approaches.

Requirements:

  • You have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in humanitarian programming (designing, implementing, evaluating and monitoring) of integrated development, relief and/or advocacy of donor funded projects with proven record of winning grants.

  • Core understanding of key aspect of humanitarian work including Cash, Education, Child Protection, Mental Health and Psycho Social Support (MHPSS) as well as resilience, integration of advocacy in programming.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills such as coaching / mentoring.

  • Ability to express ideas and concepts clearly and persuasively with senior internal and external stakeholders.

  • Previous experience working in complex emergency/rehabilitation settings.

  • Excellent time-management and prioritisation.
