Here’s where you come in:
As a Livelihood/Economic Development Advisor in a response, your primary responsibility to spearhead the economic recovery and resilience-building efforts of affected households and communities. Your expertise will be instrumental in crafting and executing livelihoods interventions aimed at not just restoring, but enhancing, the economic well-being of those impacted by crises. You will be responsible for: 1. Drafting the Livelihoods and ED strategy. 2. Supporting the development of Livelihoods and ED programs. 3. Providing technical support to project teams for quality assurance. 4. Empowering and building capacities of the field staff 5. Representing the Response in cluster and working groups and with relevant Ministries/stakeholders, 6. Advocate for the prioritisation of livelihoods and economic recovery within the broader humanitarian agenda, leveraging your expertise to drive policy dialogue and resource mobilisation efforts.
Requirements include:
- Bachelor’s degree in any area related to Livelihoods/ED, Economy, economic development, Food Security, Agriculture, Value chain Development, etc.
- Three to five years of technical expertise in the areas of Economic development or Livelihoods/ED.
- Two years or more NGO experience in the humanitarian and development fields respectively.
- Experience in capacity building processes, tools and methodologies.
- Effective written and verbal communication in English. Other UN languages such as French, Arabic, Spanish, and Portuguese, are preferred.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required on short notice.
