The opportunity

University of the Arts London is looking for an Employability and Progression Programme Co-ordinator to join our team on a full-time basis.

You will be responsible for coordinating the promotion of Creative Shift programmes with a focus on effective marketing and communication strategies to support the engagement of students from underrepresented groups studying at UAL.

You will also lead on a key Creative Shift programme, Connect To – which aims to build and grow Creative Shift’s student network. In order to support the programme, you will work in collaboration with a range of internal and external partners including UAL Comms teams, creative industry partners and stakeholders.

The Creative Shift team aims to support students who are underrepresented in the creative industries, who may have a range of intersectional identities. We work with widening participation students including (but not limited to): students from a Black, Asian and other Ethnic Minority backgrounds, students from low-income backgrounds/students from (Indices of Multiple Deprivation) IMD 1&2 and students whose parent(s)/guardian(s) have not completed a university degree. This is in line with the University’s Access and Participation work (APP).

About you

We are looking for a candidate with knowledge of effective approaches to widening participation programmes in further and higher education, who has significant experience of working with groups underrepresented in the creative and cultural sector, particularly individuals from lower socio-economic backgrounds, those whose parent(s)/guardian(s) have not completed a university degree and/or BAME student groups.

You will have knowledge of student/graduate employability and enterprise issues and trends, specifically in relation to underrepresented groups within the creative sector and knowledge of communication and marketing and using software such as the Adobe software suite, as well as other relevant software and tools like Canva and video editing software.
