Purpose
To transform lives and improve personal and organizational effectiveness for the benefit of the UT community through counseling, consultation, training and other projects related to health and wellbeing. Contribute to a professional team demonstrating cultural humility, innovation, mutual respect and empathy.
Responsibilities
Required Qualifications
Master’s or doctoral degree in social work, clinical or counseling psychology, or other counseling-related field. Licensure or certification as professional counselor, psychologist or social worker. Fully bilingual. Three years full time experience providing intake and mental health counseling with adults with varied presenting problems, ages, and identities. Demonstrated ability to communicate cultural competency mutual respect and empathy. Experience providing individual short-term problem-solving counseling, treating clients with depression, anxiety disorders, stress reactions and serious mental illness. Experience creating and providing group counseling and training. Interest in workplace mental health and wellness issues. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Demonstrated ability to work and collaborate effectively with a team. Demonstrated ability to use tactical and strategic problem solving. Understanding of and adherence to the highest professional and ethical standards. Competence with basic computer functions and record keeping.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience working in a multidisciplinary work environment such as a college/university, hospital or other medical setting, or residential/inpatient treatment facility. Experience with EAP or other work-related counseling. Experience working with couples. Experience providing clinical supervision. Organizational and political awareness and ability to navigate competing interests. Certifications or specialized training in employee assistance programming, substance abuse prevention, threat assessment, organization planning and development, human resources management, conflict resolution and mediation, or mental health counseling which may include but not be limited to : Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP), National Certified Counselor (NCC), Certified Mental Health Counselor (CCMHC), National Certified Addiction Counselor (NCAC) and so forth.
Salary Range
$31,500 – prorated annual basis, 20 hours per week.
