This is a fantastic opportunity for an Employee Relations Manager with a background in the NHS, healthcare, or a similar sector to support a leading department within Human Resources. The successful candidate must have CIPD Level 5 or 7 and will thrive in a fast-paced environment, providing expert employee relations advice and guidance.

  • Lead and quality-check complex ER casework across the Trust
  • Manage and develop a team of ER professionals (currently 6, growing to 7)
  • Develop and implement an Employee Relations strategy with the Head of ER
  • Oversee ER KPIs, reporting systems, and cultural/EDI trend analysis
  • Act as escalation point for complex or sensitive ER issues
  • Design and deliver ER-related training to HR teams and managers
  • Collaborate with legal teams, trade unions, and governance bodies
  • Contribute to policy development and ensure legal compliance
  • Deputise for Head of ER on key projects and tribunal cases

  • NHS or similar, wider public sector experience – essential
  • Proven experience managing complex, high-volume ER casework
  • Previous team leadership in a strategic ER environment
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, including unions and legal teams
  • Strong coaching, conflict resolution, and training delivery skills
  • Unflappable, firm but fair approach with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skills for interpreting ER data and trends
  • Confident managing policy development and legal compliance
