Position Summary

The Employee Training & Development Specialist is responsible for creating, administering, and delivering employee training and development solutions to build and maintain an engaged, high-performing, and inclusive workplace.
The Employee Training & Development Specialist will develop and coordinate a training program and facilitate training courses focused on professional and leadership development. In addition, the position will collaborate with other campus partners to lead learning and development opportunities to build campus awareness, engagement, and accountability of diversity, equity and inclusion at all levels.

Reporting to the Division Director of Employee Relations, Organizational Development and Diversity, the Employee Training & Development Specialist will serve as a change agent to provide strategies, training, tools, and resources on employee development and diversity management.

Required Education: Bachelor’s degree

Business Administration, Public Administration, Education, Social Sciences, Behavioral Sciences, Organizational Development or related field

Professional experience assessing, developing and delivering training programs and activities

Demonstrated success in development, preparation, and presentation of education/training programs.

Knowledge and ability sufficient to identify training needs and ability to follow through and provide identified training, including utilization of a variety of resources.

Thorough knowledge of guiding principles to promote and manage diversity, preferably, in an academic community.

Excellent, verbal, writing and presentation skills.

Effective communication skills.

Effective facilitation skills.

Demonstrated knowledge of performance management processes.

Skill at negotiating and building consensus to support decisions and programs.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively with persons from diverse backgrounds.

Preferred Education: Master’s degree
