About the role

The Employment Mentor will be responsible for providing tailored services to improve work-readiness of disadvantaged jobseekers, and engaging with employers to identify job opportunities to support these jobseekers transition successfully into employment.

This is a full-time position until the 31st March 2025.

About you

This role will suit a candidate with the following skills and experience:

  • Demonstrated experience (or capacity) to improve job-readiness of disadvantaged Victorian jobseekers into employment
  • Proven experience with generating leads, cold-calling or telemarketing
  • Proven success in achieving employment outcomes for disadvantaged Victorian jobseekers
  • The ability to successfully communicate, liaise and network with employers to identify vacancies and to develop ongoing service relationships and partnerships.
  • Excellent interpersonal, teamwork and written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders in government, the private and the community sectors.
  • Personal drive, passion and commitment to achieve the best outcomes for the people Jesuit Social Services is seeking to assist

Jesuit Social Services has a history of investing in programs to support people to transition into education, training and jobs. Both experience and research tell us that one of the most reliable pathways out of disadvantage and most effective ways of connecting with the broader community is through employment.

Employment Services is Jesuit Social Service’s major activity to help disadvantaged Victorian jobseekers gain employment. These services are delivered by specialist employment experts who work closely with employers to identify job opportunities and prepare job seekers for those roles.
