South East London Community Energy

tendersglobal.net

Here at South East London Community Energy (SELCE) we’re recruiting an energy advisor that
builds on our creative, award-winning work addressing climate change and fuel poverty in practical, tangible ways. You can be part of this work. Almost one in four households cannot afford to
heat their homes adequately. Using your knowledge about domestic energy and your excellent communication skills, you will provide practical guidance and support to households who are struggling to pay their fuel bills. You will advise clients about how to reduce their fuel
bills by switching suppliers, accessing discounts, changing behaviour or by fitting small practical
energysaving measures such as low energy light bulbs and draught proofing. You will also
support the householder to access funded home energy improvements such as loft, cavity wall insulation or heating upgrades. You will provide guidance on energy both in homes and over the phone. You
will have an office base but much of your work will be in home or out in the community.

To deliver this role you will need to have Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) or NVQ Level 3
(6049-03) or equivalent or City and Guilds Energy Awareness (6281-01) formerly known as 6176 Energy Awareness or equivalent.

To deliver this role you will need to have a full clean UK Driving Licence and an interest in
supporting people on a low income and ideally have experience of delivering advice about energy either in
a paid or voluntary capacity alongside the appropriate qualifications. But we will also consider appropriately qualified candidates that lack experience.
