What You Will Achieve
Working with Pfizer’s dynamic engineering team, you will play a critical part in managing the maintenance and reliability engineering activities involving the redesign, maintenance, and repair of utilities systems, buildings, and production/non-production equipment.
As a Manager, you provide cross-functional guidance to operational teams for managing projects. You will be setting priorities, forecasting and allocating resources needed to complete all preventive and corrective maintenance tasks as well as providing areas of improvement for products, processes or services. Through your comprehensive knowledge of principles, concepts and theories of the discipline, you will also work towards advancing new concepts and methodologies.

How You Will Achieve It
- Provide guidance, lead/co-lead projects, manage own time to meet objectives, and plan resource requirements for projects across the department.
- Provide technical engineering oversight to develop project execution plans, and associated engineering studies for equipment component installation etc.
- Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), safety procedures, quality standards, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards, other regulatory agency standards, and good maintenance practices.
- Provide good judgment and innovation by utilizing and adapting a broad knowledge of engineering principles and practices acquired through progressive experience.
- Ensure that energy performance goals are established for the site
- Conduct or organize site energy assessments to identify conservation opportunities on a programmed basis.
- Evaluate, oversee & prioritize opportunities.
- Drive energy related projects to completion.
- Confirm realization of energy savings.
- Communicate regularly to the site leadership and site population on energy program goals and progress against those goals
- Implement energy management system
- Maintain Enablon database for the site, ensuring that information is current.
- Contribute to Pfizer Netzero program
- Coordinate with other energy management practitioners within the Pfizer network.
- Participate in telecons/ meetings with other sites in the region/ network
- Share energy conservation success stories
- Engage with external bodies to further the site energy program.
- Use the Site Energy Team to raise awareness of conservation & usage at the site
- Participate in development of energy procurement strategy, maintaining familiarity with the key aspects of the site’s supply side management
- Be familiar with and co-ordinate the use of ECC Program tools at the site Including Green Building Evaluations for proposed expansions & new facilities
- Lead multi-disciplinary Site Energy Team to drive success of the site energy management program
- Understand site energy budget (cost and volumes)
- Routinely monitor and trend energy usage and associated cost
- Utilize the Pfizer Energy Website (Project Portal & Utility Portal) to track monthly energy usage as well as progress on all energy projects and initiatives.
Qualifications
Must-Have
- Applicant must have a High School Diploma (or Equivalent) and 10 years of relevant experience OR an associates degree with 8 years of experience OR a bachelors with at least 5 years of experience OR Masters Degree with more than 3 years of experience, OR a PhD with 0+ years of experience.
- Experience with building management systems for metering and control of equipment
- Ability to oversee and direct daily work of staff
- Strong project management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to work independently
- Demonstrated time management skills, ability to work on multiple projects at a time
Nice-to-Have
- Certified Energy Management (CEM) qualification
- Experience with ISO, DoE or other energy management systems
- Experience in an engineering discipline with utilities experience
- Sound working knowledge in design and operation of utilities and related automation systems used in the pharmaceutical industry
- Exposure to Six Sigma techniques as applied to problem solving and continuous improvement
- Relevant pharmaceutical experience
- A collaborative style and a can-do attitude
- Comfortable with fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
- Ability to make informed decisions quickly
- Passionate and enthusiastic about renewable energy

Relocation support available
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $106,300.00 to $177,100.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 15.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
