Apply today and join our team. The North Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board’s Agriculture and Enforcement Division has an opening for a Senior Engineering Geologist (Specialist). The position will be located in one of the following two locations The position will be located in either of two North Coast Regional offices:

1) Santa Rosa (Sonoma County) main office location: 5550 Skylane Blvd., Suite A, Santa Rosa, in the Airport Business Park next to the Sonoma County Airport, the Sonoma Marin Area Rapit Transit (SMART) Train and other public transportation,

OR

2) Eureka (Humboldt County) Northern Field Office location: 930 6th Street, in downtown Eureka.

Duties:
The Senior Engineering Geologist (Specialist) will fill a leadership role within the Agriculture and Enforcement Division with a primary role of enforcing the Water Code on illegal cannabis cultivation sites to minimize pollution, nuisance, and impacts to water quality. The duties of this position include inspecting cannabis cultivation sites throughout the region; assessing threats and impacts to water quality and compliance with the Water Code, Clean Water Act, and other laws and regulations; evaluation of geologic hazards and conditions; issuing enforcement actions; collaborating with other staff and other agencies, including law enforcement; reviewing technical reports for adequacy to comply with laws, regulations, and enforceable requirements; providing professional assessments; developing and implementing strategies, priorities, procedures, templates, guidance and trainings to support enforcement; presenting and providing testimony at Board meetings, hearings and court proceedings.

Candidates must possess essential personal qualifications including integrity, initiative, dependability, good judgment, the ability to work cooperatively with others, and the ability to perform the assigned duties of the class.

Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § 599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.

Pay: $11,104.00 – $13,898.00 per month
