The Role

The Engagement Manager (Delivery Network) will lead the engagement of the Black Dog Institute’s National Education and Training Delivery Network (Delivery Network) to ensure the high-quality delivery of mental health education and training for health professionals, workplaces, and schools. The Delivery Network is comprised of expert clinical (medical professionals and psychologists) facilitators and lived experience presenters.

This role will oversee the Delivery Network and Engagement Team that manages the recruitment and retention of the Delivery Network and operational administration and systems for the Service Engagement and Operations department. Reporting in to the Head of Service Engagement and Operations the Engagement Manager (Delivery Network) sits with in the Service Engagement and Operations department. The purpose of this department is to disseminate evidenced-based products, programs, and services to manage and prevent common mental health conditions and suicide in workplaces, schools, health settings and the wider community. To ensure sustainable growth, the Service Engagement and Operations Department leads the development and continuous improvement of resourcing, systems, and processes.

Duties & Responsibilities

Delivery Network Engagement and Capacity Building

  • Develop and execute tailored recruitment and selection processes to attract a committed and skilled delivery network, based on organisational needs and ensuring values alignment
  • Manage Delivery Network induction, training, retention and ongoing development opportunities.
  • Develop and communicate delivery network policies and procedures to ensure consistency, clearly defined accountabilities and expectations of employees, presenters, facilitators, delivery partners, and streamlining of shared processes. Engagement Manager (Delivery Network)
  • Further develop online capabilities to support the delivery network in their roles and increase productivity and efficiency
  • Develop and implement a communications and engagement strategy to meet the challenges of an offsite delivery workforce and create a nationwide delivery network community with internal networking opportunities
  • Develop and implement a consistent and fair reward and recognition program based on the differing motivations and needs of the facilitator and presenter network
  • Management of independent contracts and volunteer agreements

People Management

  • Lead, develop, motivate and support the Delivery Network Engagement team to continue to improve Facilitator and Presenter engagement and achieve delivery targets and KPIs
  • Recruit and onboard employees as required
  • Oversee the day-to-day activities of the Delivery Network and Engagement Team
  • Coach direct reports to promote ongoing development and manage areas of performance that require improvement
  • Build strong relationships with the Delivery Network and relevant external stakeholders
  • Build collaborative internal relationships with IT, People and Culture, Finance and Marketing and Communications to ensure efficiencies with organisational operational policies, processes and systems

Planning and Reporting

  • Contribute to the formulation of Service Engagement and Operations strategic, operational and business plans, budgets and unit procedures.
  • Lead and manage the budget process for the Delivery Network stream.
  • Lead reporting on Delivery Network management activity for the Board, Annual Report and funders.

Skills & Experience Required

Essential Criteria

  • Tertiary qualification in HR, Business, Management, Education, Health or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated experience in leading, engaging and motivating a high performing team
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, networking, consultation, and relationship building.
  • Experience in the planning, development and delivery of recruitment, onboarding, and engagement initiatives for contractor or volunteer workforces.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement and maintain processes and systems that support high quality service delivery
