The engineering professorship for “Multiscale Environmental Process Engineering” has a strong cross-sectional character and deals with the reactive and preventive protection of the environment as well as the reliability of raw material supply under technical, ecological, economic and societal aspects.
We are looking for a person with relevant professional experience and innovative research approaches in the field of environmental process engineering. A prerequisite is the ability to transfer and apply process engineering fundamentals as well as the capability for practical implementation in system engineering for the treatment of environmentally relevant material flows.
It is anticipated to develop concepts and technologies based on a profound understanding of processes, taking into account modern aspects of sustainability as well as material and energy circular management.

The natural scientific departments of the Institute of Sanitary Engineering, Water Quality and Waste Management, which focus on environmental chemistry and microbiology, together with the teaching and research plant for wastewater treatment, offer the opportunity for innovative joint research on interdisciplinary topics. These range from the fundamentals and the development of prevention strategies up to the application of end-of-pipe technologies.
The position holder will represent the technical discipline in the German and international programs and in other degree programs in which the Faculty is involved. The candidate shall cover the field of environmental process engineering in teaching. Faculty 2: Civil and Environmental Engineering has set itself the goal of increasing diversity and attracting underrepresented groups in engineering. Thus, we expect to encourage women in particular to pursue a career in engineering and to actively contribute to the implementation of a gender-balanced and diversity-oriented university.
We are looking for a person who has an outstanding track record of high-ranking scientific publications and/or comparable achievements with international visibility.
For a qualitative assessment of your academic accomplishments, we kindly ask you to submit a short description of your three most important scientific achievements, which should be no longer than one page in total. Possible successes may include, for example, those in the fields of research, teaching, science and society, knowledge and technology transfer, inventions and patents, software development or spin-offs.
