Job Description:

The University of Florida Survey Research Center (UFSRC), a part of the Bureau of Economic & Business Research, is seeking to hire personable individuals as English/Spanish Bilingual Telephone Interviewers. As a English/Spanish Bilingual Telephone Interviewer in our survey center, you’ll be screening respondents, conducting surveys with them, and collecting information on a variety of research topics. The work done by the UFSRC provides important business information and supports the work of various clients in improving the quality of life for a wide spectrum of individuals and groups.  At the UFSRC, you can expect:  

  • Starting pay: $14.50/hour plus productivity incentives based on performance

  • Creating your own work schedule of either:
  • 3 weekday evening shifts 6pm – 9pm, 1 weekday late afternoon shift from 3pm-6pm, 1 flexible 3-hour shift of your choice OR
  • 4 weekday evening shifts 6pm – 9pm, 1 flexible 3-hour shift, 1 grave shift from 9pm-10pm
  • Ability to add additional shifts as you are able
  • Flexible scheduling to accommodate busy student schedules
  • Relaxed and friendly work environment with ability to read and study non-electronic sources while on the job

  • Expected Salary:

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bilingual English/Spanish speaking
    • Clear and professional speaking voice
    • Ability to read from a script exactly as written
    • Ability to listen effectively and follow instructions
    • Basic computer literacy
    • Ability to work 15 hours per week
    • Ability to work weekday evenings 6pm- 9pm
    • Ability to work from 9pm-10pm one weekday on seasonal projects contacting the Central Time Zone (i.e. Texas)
    • Ability to work one 3-hour weekend shift per week
    • Ability to follow standard operating and project-related procedures

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Customer service and telephone experience
    • 18 years old or older
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Fluent bilingual English/Spanish speakers

    Training sessions will be scheduled on weekdays between 1pm and 6pm.
