Reports To: Associate Dean of Students

General:

• Administer Community ESOL Test to assess English Language learners’ interpretive, productive, and interactive abilities. 
• Maintain working knowledge of testing policies and procedures.
• Conduct computerized and paper-based testing sessions following policies and procedures.
• Perform administrative tasks associated with registration, reporting, and other test center operations as requested.
• Check in students and ensure test security by verifying students’ identification (picture ID) before administering the test.
• Provide students with test results and instructions for the following steps when appropriate.
• Ensure respect for student information and student confidentiality.
• Report any problems to the Coordinator of Student Assessment.
• Act as a proctor during all testing periods; give instruction when required.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Humanities 
• Knowledge of second language teaching practices and principles of adult language education
• Experience in teaching ESL to Adults in Higher Ed institutions; experience with test administration and standardized testing is a plus
• Ability to give written and oral instructions and to communicate well and professionally with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion in handling confidential information
• Ability to speak Spanish or Haitian Creole desirable

Additional Information:

This is a part-time, temporary position.

We are seeking applicants with flexible schedules. 
All candidates must have legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Salary: The salary assigned will be as determined by the DCE Collective Bargaining Agreement per the credit salary chart
