About the Role

The EMCH program is focused on achieving improved outcomes for children and their families who are experiencing a period of increased vulnerability and could benefit from targeted actions and interventions.

The EMCH Nurse is responsible for developing strength-based relationships with families to help identify both protective and risk factors.  The EMCH Nurse works closely with other agencies to improve family functioning and parenting capacity. The safety and wellbeing of the child and family is at the centre of all decision making for the Enhanced MCH service.

Working as part of a small supportive team, the Enhanced MCH Nurse will be a pivotal part of the MCH service.  Using the skills acquired in Universal MCH, the right candidate will have a passion for making a difference and supporting healthy parenting.  Versatility in communication style and problem solving abilities will be well regarded. The service involves collaboration and partnership with other service providers and agencies who can support families to improve outcomes.

The EMCH nurse will coach and support parents to understand and nurture their young children.  This is an ideal role for an experienced MCH nurse who has great empathy, and a desire to make a positive impact for children and parents.
