East Stroudsburg University is hiring a Seasonal Recruiter! Located in the beautiful Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, ESU’s proximity to New York City and Philadelphia provides convenient access to internships, careers and social activities. Just minutes from campus are the country’s largest water parks, scenic Delaware Water Gap Recreation Area, Appalachian Trail, and other opportunities for recreational fun.
As the Seasonal Recruiter, you will need to think creatively and be comfortable engaging with
prospective students, parents and college counselors regarding ESU’s academic
offerings and student life opportunities. You will be an active member of the Admissions and Orientation team and will work closely with the Association Director of
Admissions and New Student Orientation to pertinent information
to inquirers on admission to ESU including, academic credentials, and
scholarship opportunities. You will thrive in this role if you like combining your attention to detail and customer service experience while engaging with prospective students. To be successful in this role, you must have strong communication skills, organized and excellent presentation skills.
The schedule for this role is 8am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday and as business
needs demand. Staff member will need to
work some nights and weekends. You may have to flex your schedule from time to time based on the needs of the business to be a true Seasonal Recruiter. When our team shows up for work, they are energized and motivated to succeed – all while being the most crucial piece to keeping the ESU operations humming.
What Will I Do At ESU? (AKA Essential Duties)
This temporary position will:
· Attend high school visits and college fairs.
· Develop relationships with high school and community college counselors
· Participate in Instant Decision Days programs
· Conduct presentations about ESU and lead campus tours
· Answer phones, emails, texts about admission to the university, new student orientation, etc.
· Participate in a variety of on-campus events such as Open House, Campus Days, New student orientation (freshman and transfers as applicable), etc.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For (AKA Qualifications)
· BA/BS required from regionally accredited institution.
· 1-2 years of work experience in Admissions or Customer Experience
· Expertise with Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills.
· Excellent presentation skills.
· Strong organizational skills.
· Ability to interpret data.
· Detail oriented.
- Able to read, write, and comprehend English; able to follow verbal instructions.
- Experience with Word, Excel, Teams required.
