However, there will also be an expectation to visit other locations (London) on occasions as the need arises.The salary range for this role is set at £68,500 to £128,000Contract typeThis position is PermanentAbout the RoleAt the John Lewis Partnership, we are driving change through a value stream model the purpose of which is Enable aligned business, change and technology outcomes at the right pace and lower costsAs a leader, your focus is to enable and ensure ongoing improvement and maturity with regard to ways of working for how change is delivered in the value streams. This will be delivered within a value stream construct using agreed frameworks and enabling adherence to them by Product teams, Projects teams, Continuous improvement squads and through communities of practice. As the Lead, you will coordinate improvement of delivery of products, projects, and CI depending on the type of work within the value stream.Within value stream delivery, your core focus in each of these will be:ProductDriving accelerated maturity in product ways of working from strategic product roadmap creation for a value stream to the method of delivery at the team level in the value stream. This will include an improvement in work flow adoption, data driven improvement of delivery and the use and maturity of flow metrics for the purposes of learning and improving how we work.Projects/ProgrammesEngage with senior value stream leaders and teams as a hands-on coach to enable the application of flow principles to project work, ensuring efficient delivery of projects in a value stream, removing waste and delays and improving the flow of value. Create an increase in throughput for project ways of working through coaching and training leaders and teams.Continuous ImprovementWhere CI/Service redesign underpins key initiative-level changes, ensure that work is enabled by the Partnership CI framework. You will provide seasoned expertise to ensure problems are diagnosed correctly from the customer’s point of view, and that they are systemic/holistic and end-to-end in nature based on real world observations and reliable data. Solutions are design led and hypothesis-based and can be tracked reliably by driving measurable outcomes and applying the Partnership CI framework and methods. This role will ensure that the changes are lasting and significant in that they solve real end-to-end problems that create better service outcomes at lower cost.This role will be operating at value stream level, effectively acting as a leader to their own team of Enterprise Agility Coaches and as a member of the cross-functional leadership team in the values stream.Through your Enterprise Agility shared capability area you will have the opportunity to develop and stretch personally and professionally to achieve your potential.Essential SkillsProven experience of Leadership in a complex environment (e.g. multiple teams environment, significant transformation or end to end cross functional environment)Experience in one of these or more is essential, Systems thinking, lean and agile/product techniques which should include higher-level certifications such as Prokanban APK, recognised lean qualifications or any academic systems thinking certificationsUnderstanding of and proven experience in facilitating, mentoring, training and/or offering professional coachingWorking experience in one or more of the following Agile methods or frameworks: Scrum, Extreme Programming (XP), Kanban, LeSS, DAD, or A proven track record in applying lean and/or systemic e2e system redesign outside of software teamsAbility to flex between applying lean and flow principles in many situations in different work systemsDesirableWorking experience in applying the vanguard method and or Deming’s system of profound knowledge,Experience of applying the above in a retail environmentBenefits of the Partnership💻 – Hybrid Working.🏖️ – Full – time working holiday entitlement 25 days holiday plus public and bank holidays (this is prorated for part time hours).⚖ – Excellent work life balance, including focus on well being and flexible working and our marketing leading equal parenthood leave Policy🐷 – Defined Contribution pension scheme where your contributions will be matched by the Partnership (up to 8% of pay) and, after three years’ service, you’ll receive an additional Partnership contribution of 4% of pay, regardless of whether you pay in or not🤑 – You’ll get Partnership discount in store and online once you complete your Earning Membership period.
