Janat Al Frdaws Foundation for Relief and Development (NGO) (JF), is looking for a Project Coordinator for its project STRENGTHENING THE RESILIENCE OF CONFLICT-AFFECTED PEOPLE AND STABILISING COMMUNITIES BY CREATING RISK-SENSITIVE LIVELIHOODS, financed by BMZ, to contribute to sustainable socio-economic development to rebuild resilient communities with future perspectives for vulnerable people, in particular youth and women in Salahaddin Iraq. The objective will be pursued through three components: supporting the structuring of the youth entrepreneurial ecosystem, supporting the creation of micro-enterprises and the development of existing businesses
Janat Al Frdaws Foundation for Relief and Development (NGO) (JF) is currently hiring for a Project Coordinator to implement activities that aims to support establishing new businesses and Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) to grow, transform, and become resilient to future shocks focusing on four critical sectors: agriculture, production, manufacturing, and services, with special attention to technology development and implementation. It works to implement best practices in crisis response, enterprise strengthening, inclusive job creation, and financial development within a market-systems development (MSD) framework and leveraging innovative behavioral change methodologies to facilitate long-term, sustainable changes in the behaviors or stakeholders and beneficiaries that align better with the current needs of MSEs.
The incumbent will assist JF and ASB to achieve the project objectives.
Based in Bejie, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for the management and operational implementation of the activities of the project.
The project Coordinator oversees the definition and implementation of the project’s intervention strategy with the support of technical experts, regional teams, the project officer and in close cooperation with all partners and stakeholders.
the Project Coordinator will be responsible for the overall coordination of the project, for ensuring that JF contractual obligations are fulfilled (particularly in terms of planning, monitoring activities and reporting), for the quality control of activities and for ensuring that they are in line with the defined indicators. He/she will ensure that cross-cutting issues are integrated into the project and will promote the project.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
Support the Project Manager in developing project workplans, scope, objectives, timeline and deliverables.
Keep track of the project operational performance and ensure project activities are within assigned budgets, identify problems and suggest corrective actions.
Maintain intimate knowledge of program objectives, accomplishments, and development impacts to synthesize in writing or in briefs upon demand, especially for meetings, speeches, background papers, and other reporting requirements
Act as a liaison between different project stakeholders including JF team, our prime contractor, market actors, project beneficiaries, consultants and implementing partners.
Identify and manage risks in order to deliver the project in a timely manner and within the budget.
Schedule and organize regular check in meetings to discuss progress, issues and action items while keeping track on project tasks and milestones against budget and timeframe.
In collaboration with the Project Manager and the Finance and Admin Officer, assist in the preparation of annual budgets and monthly fund requirements.
Monitor, evaluate and report on the implementation of the project’s activities against the intended results and outcomes to Project Manager. This should be implemented by working closely with JF team, our prime contractor, technical consultants, contractors and partners.
Provide other administrative and logistics support required for the successful implementation of project activities (drafting contracts, project file management.
Assist in drafting and timely submission of Project Implementation Review/Annual Project Report, weekly and quarterly technical reports, and other reports as may be required by ES, and/or our prime contractor.
Maintains an organised and professional work environment at all times, meeting our prime contractor and the project files management requirements.
Profile:
The Project Coordinator is expected to be an organised individual with the ability to focus and pay great attention to detail, with relevant experience and knowledge in project delivery and coordination, preferably with previous experience.
The role would suit an individual with an experience in a senior r project management role with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, proven through successful interactions with various stakeholders.
The Project Coordinator should have at least two years of progressively responsible coordination, technical and/or project delivery experience, and/or related experience. Holds a university degree, or equivalent years of experience, in development studies, economics, finance and/or management related fields. We will work with you to develop your skills as a Project Coordinator to enable you to deliver your work to the best of your ability. We are looking for someone who wants to learn and evolve their professional skills and knowledge coupled with the experience and appetite to become an excellent coordinator.
A good candidate would be proficient in English and Arabic and has experience in the delivery of projects that relate to inclusive economic growth, development sector, access to finance, and/or any relevant experience. Strong writing, presentation and reporting skills, as well as a good command of G-Suite, are required.
