About Aid Gate Organization “AGO”

Aid Gate Organization (AGO) is an independent national NGO in Iraq, committed to supporting Internally Displaced Persons, returnees, and vulnerable communities across all Iraqi cities and governorates. With operations in key regions such as Kirkuk, Salah al-Din, Anbar, Nineveh, Diyala, and Basra, AGO focuses on rebuilding lives and promoting inclusivity for all, including minorities and persons with disabilities.

  1. Objective

The primary role of the enumerators is to collect accurate, reliable data through surveys and interviews with local households and individuals. The data will be used to support evidence-based decision-making for AGO’s project interventions in Diyala.

  1. Key Responsibilities
  • Data Collection: Conduct household and individual interviews using structured survey tools (digital or paper-based), ensuring that questions are clearly understood by respondents.
  • Survey Administration: Administer surveys in an ethical and culturally appropriate manner, respecting the social norms of the target communities.
  • Data Accuracy: Ensure that all data collected is accurate, complete, and consistent with the project guidelines. Enumerators are responsible for flagging any discrepancies or issues in the data.
  • Ethical Conduct: Uphold the highest ethical standards during data collection, including respecting the privacy and confidentiality of respondents. Enumerators must always seek informed consent before beginning any interviews or surveys.
  • Data Entry: Accurately input data into the designated platform or forms provided by AGO. This may include entering data in real time via digital devices or completing forms for later entry.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the field coordinator and other team members to ensure effective communication and progress tracking.
  • Daily Reporting: Provide regular updates on progress to the field supervisor, ensuring that challenges or bottlenecks are promptly addressed.

    The enumerators will work primarily in Diyala, with possible travel to other areas if required.

    3 – Reporting and Supervision

    Enumerators will report directly to the Field Coordinator, who will oversee data collection activities, provide guidance, and address any challenges that arise during fieldwork. Regular progress reports and debriefs will be required to ensure that data collection is on track and aligned with the project’s objectives.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Required Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in social sciences, statistics, or related fields is preferred but not required.
  • Experience: Previous experience as an enumerator or in data collection for NGOs or development projects is an asset.
  • Skills:
    • Strong interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to engage with respondents from diverse backgrounds.
    • Basic knowledge of data entry and digital tools for survey collection.
    • Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Language: Fluency in Arabic is required; knowledge of local dialects in Diyala is an advantage.
