Location: London, Surrey, GB, SE24 0PZ
Contract Type: Full Time
Working Hours: 37.5
hours per week, Monday to Friday

Serco’s Environmental Services provide a complete
waste and recycling service on behalf of the residents and community in Lambeth. With a
professional, dedicated and friendly team of Refuse, Recycling and Street Cleansing staff, we
ensure that streets, homes and businesses are kept clean, safe and tidy, whilst providing the very
best levels of customer service to all members of the community that we serve.

As the Environmental
Communications Officer you will manage key stakeholders within the local authority and be
responsible for the design, delivery and execution of communication campaigns supporting
environmental strategies and behaviour change through multiple media channels.

The role will see
you deeply involved in the delivery of large-scale service launches. For instance, you will support
the project management and delivery of the new food waste collection services being offered to
residents living in flats.

You will also drive the successful delivery of the many Social Value
initiatives we’ve launched in Lambeth. You will work in close collaboration with our Volunteer
& Community Sector partners to strength local circular economies and support the most
vulnerable residents in the borough.

As a frontline educator, you will be expected to manage
resident requests and complaints, flagging any reoccurring challenges. Lastly, you will organise
and attend events to promote positive recycling behaviours.

Not to worry, you won’t be doing this
alone! You will be flanked by a team of three friendly, supportive and equally passionate
communication professionals.

What you’ll need to do the role

First and foremost, you will be
passionate and hold a deep understanding of environmental issues either through academic studies or
work experience.

Pairing your excellent writing and speaking skills with your passion for
environmental sustainability you will be able to compose contract reports, own projects, and
present the team’s work to the client in a compelling fashion.

Work experience within similar
backgrounds such as communications, marketing and public relations is highly desirable.
