Nature’s Classroom Institute hosts students of all ages at our residential overnight field-trips. Using the Montessori method to promote independence, encourage responsibility, and ignite a passion for learning, our goal is to help all students feel comfortable and confident in the outdoors, no matter of their socio-economic status.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Environmental Educator at Nature’s Classroom Institute located in Palm Harbor, Florida. The Environmental Educator will be responsible for conducting and facilitating outdoor education programs, teaching environmental education classes, developing and implementing curriculum, and leading group activities in a variety of outdoor settings. Seasonal, Monday to Friday *With flexibility on certain weeks

Start-date: Immediately 

Location: Palm Harbor and Brooksville, Florida

Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of outdoor education, wildlife, and ecology
• Excellent teaching skills and ability to engage learners of all ages
• Experience in developing and implementing curriculum related to environmental education
• Ability to lead and facilitate group activities in a variety of outdoor environments
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Education or related field preferred
• Experience working with children and youth is preferred
• Experience working in a camp or outdoor education setting is a plus
