Environmental Educator 450

Status:  Seasonal Full Time

Position Dates: May 28 – Aug 28, 2024  (June 30 – July 7 PTO)

Schedule:  Full Time – Mon. – Friday 40 hours/week

The Summer Environmental Educator will design, lead and evaluate outdoor-focused, theme-based day camps for ages 3 – 12. Training will be provided in child development, group management, first aid, team work, animal care, program policies, safety procedures and other relevant topics.

Required Experience:

• At least 18 years of age
• Passionate about environmental causes and being a part of the community surrounding environmental service
• Dependable; able to fulfill commitment to term of service
• Prepared to undergo a criminal background check
• Experience working with small groups of children ages 4 – 12, a plus
• Experience in outdoor recreation, a plus
• Comfortable with learning how to care for and handle live education animals including reptiles and invertebrates
• Willing to learn and implement teaching strategies for diversity, equity and inclusion
