Position Available: Environmental Educator
Crystal Springs Foundation (CSF) is recognized as a statewide leader in environmental education. Our programming focuses on the preservation of Florida’s natural environment, specifically the Floridan Aquifer and the Hillsborough River Watershed. We are seeking a confident, self-motivated, outgoing team player to join our team of dedicated educators. CSF is a 501(c)(3) that provides programming on a privately-owned, 530-acre nature preserve in Pasco County, Florida, 20 miles north of downtown Tampa.
Mission Statement: Crystal Springs Foundation is dedicated to the conservation and stewardship of Florida’s unique natural resources, specifically the Hillsborough River Watershed, for the benefit of future generations. We accomplish this through: Leadership in Environmental Education, Informed Watershed, Land and Biodiversity Management, Advocacy for the Protection of Private Property Rights plus, Community Outreach and Engagement.
Job Responsibilities:
- Teach hands-on, directed learning science and biodiversity programs that immerse students of all ages in our unique habitats. This includes netting and wading in the Hillsborough River.
- Participate in habitat stewardship projects such as: exotic plant removal, river clean ups, habitat restoration and planting.
- Maintain science equipment used in educational programs.
- Reservation confirmation and follow up.
This position is full-time, with a Monday-Friday and occasional Saturday schedule. Position requires working outside on your feet all day, year-round. Experience in handling/caring for small reptiles and aquariums is desirable.
Requirements: • Completed bachelor’s degree in science or education • Strong communication and public speaking skills • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites • Teaching experience/certification preferred.
