We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who care about the environment and are eager to learn and grow as environmental educators. The Environmental Literacy Assistants will assist Environmental Literacy and Outdoor Education staff in the needs of the outdoor education programs. There are positions open on the 4th grade and 6th grade teams. Work involves teaching lessons during field experiences which may include taking water quality data in local streams and rivers, hiking on Arlington Echo’s trails, or canoeing on the Severn River. Tasks also include preparation of materials, outdoor instruction, participating in staff development activities and helping with animal care. The Environmental Literacy Assistant position is a transitional position for those looking to work in the education and environmental fields.
