    Qld Local Government Industry Award (Stream A,) – Level 3 to Level 5 of the EBA5 Certified Agreement 
    The appointed wage level will be dependent upon the successful candidates level of experience, skills and qualifications. 
  • 72.5 hour fortnight
  • Hybrid, flexible working environment, including some work from home days.
  • Location: Strathpine

About our opportunity

As our Environmental Planner, provide specialist planning expertise and undertake moderate to complex planning investigations for a range of storm water and/or coastal projects to meet the needs of the community. 

You will: 

  • act as a technical planning advisor and provide guidance to team members in the delivery of storm water infrastructure planning and policy matters to drive integrated and sustainable planning outcomes
  • provide advice in infrastructure planning and policy matters in accordance with legislative, policy and business requirements
  • investigate storm water planning problems and prepare and present technical solutions and recommendations to ensure project outcomes are met
  • support project-based community consultation including representing Council as part of a team at a range of customer meetings and community forums. 

About you

We are seeking someone who has experience in strategic land use and infrastructure planning as well as working experience in storm water infrastructure planning. 

You will have: 

  • practiced skills in undertaking complex planning investigations relating to the delivery of storm water and/or coastal infrastructure projects
  • the ability to apply critical thinking, reasoning, evaluation and decision-making skills – to be an advisor within the team and across other departments with council 
  • experience in the preparation and presentation of complex technical reports and recommendations – taking into account a wide variety of stakeholders and their diverse technical abilities both internally and externally 

You will hold a Degree in Planning, Environmental Engineering/Science or equivalent and Post Graduate qualifications in Environmental Engineering/ Science, Planning or equivalent would be highly desired.
