DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The role of the Environmental Planning Supervisor involves supporting the Section Chief and other Department managers in incorporating environmental policies, procedures, and technical guidance into various activities such as planning, design, construction, maintenance, and operations. Additionally, this position oversees the coordination, tracking, and reporting of environmental documents within the Bureau. The Environmental Planning Supervisor is also responsible for staying updated on and implementing new regulations, legislation, and rules related to environmental affairs, and collaborating with other divisions, bureaus, deputates, and state/federal agencies.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday – Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
• This position is eligible for alternate work schedule.
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Two years of experience as an Environmental Planner 2; or
• Six years of professional experience in local, regional, or state environmental planning; or
• A Master’s degree in planning or one of the environmental sciences and three years of progressively responsible professional environmental planning experience; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.
