Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a talented Environmental Project Manager for immediate employment in our Baton Rouge, Louisiana offices. Imagine making a positive impact in your community while working on rewarding projects, such as environmental investigation, site characterization or remediation projects . In this role (Environmental Project Manager), you will be responsible for managing AECOM staff, subcontractors, technical delivery, stakeholder engagement and communication, and financial management.

Responsibilities for this position may include the following:

  • Understand site investigation and remediation techniques to drive solutions for our clients.

  • Determine and define project scope and objectives.

  • Manages all phases of projects (from beginning to close out).

  • Predict resource needs and manage resources effectively.

  • Monitor project performance to identify areas for improvement.

  • Makes sound, well-informed and objective decisions with a strong understanding of the impact and implications of decisions.

  • May provide technical oversight and quality control.

  • Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress.

  • Identify, mitigate, and manage project risks.

  • Advises/mentors less experienced staff on project management skills.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • BS in engineering, geology, environmental science, or related field, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  • US Citizen/Permanent resident.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Five years of experience working in environmental consulting·

  • Licensed or ability to obtain a license in the State of Louisiana (Professional Engineer or Geologist).

  • Experience working with local and state regulatory agencies in Louisiana.

  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certified (current).

  • PMP certification or ability to obtain certification.

  • Experience with regulator and stakeholder negotiations.

  • Experience successfully managing environmental projects for various types of clients.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication, both verbal and written skills.

  • Experience in team management and scheduling of staff and resources to ensure on time and on budget project delivery.

  • Experience preparing proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and change orders.

  • Interest in business development.

  • Have led teams of professionals in executing site investigations, remedial investigations, feasibility studies, risk assessment, and treatability studies in support of environmental projects.

  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.

Compensation

Exempt Position: The Offered rate of compensation for Baton Rouge, LA will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $61,000 – 90,000.
