VET Environmental Engineering, LLC (VET), implements innovative, cost-effective, and result-driven strategies, on a site-specific basis, to mitigate environmental issues.  VET provides due diligence services, investigative services, and remediation/site closure services for commercial and industrial developers, lending institutions, insurance agencies, and government agencies.  VET also provides consulting services specializing in permitting and environmental safety compliance.  VET is Certified as a woman-owned, service-disabled veteran-owned small business.

General Duties: 

Perform a variety of tasks in support of multiple environmental program areas such as:

  • Gather environmental data by applying chemistry and engineering principles.
  • Maintain environmental databases by tabulating and reporting information requirements.
  • Prepare, summarize, and chart by gathering and testing samples, interpreting analytical results, and summarizing findings and trends.
  • Maintain environmental analytical instrumentation, mechanical equipment, and other test instrumentation by installing, operating, completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, maintaining equipment inventories, evaluating new equipment, and techniques.
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintain the reputation of the organization and represent the VET brand by complying with legal and waste management requirements and perform in a professional and responsible fashion.
  • Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing business networks, and participating in professional societies.

 

Qualifications:

  • BS or MS Degree in a relevant science field
  • Three years of professional experience in a relevant science field
  • Environmental Health & Safety background a plus
  • Strong problem-solving ability
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools and demonstrated experience using this equipment
  • Familiarity with chemistry techniques, lab environment, waste treatment, analyzing information, equipment maintenance, attention to detail, research skills, and reporting research results
  • Familiarity with and demonstrated ability to use the Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe products
  • Ability to work well and self-motivate in a collaborative team environment
  • Ability to work in variable conditions, including uneven surfaces and access to remote sites
  • Strong team player with effective internal and external communication skills
  • Desire to grow professionally and to be promoted within the VET Team

 

Benefits:

  • Varied hourly pay rates commensurate with experience and job duties.
  • Benefits package after 90 days:
    • Short-Term, Long-Term Disability.
    • $25,000 Life Insurance plus $25,000 Accidental Death/Dismemberment Insurance.
    • Health Insurance, company pays 50% of the employee’s premium.
    • Dental Insurance available, premium paid by employee.
  • 401(k) with 6% company match eligible at one-year anniversary.
  • 5 paid vacation days during the first year, plus one additional day every year thereafter.
  • Flexible time off with ample notice.
  • Office hours 8:00-5:00, work an 8-hour day.
  • Overtime – Time and a half.
  • Use of company vehicles for project related transportation.
