Position: Environmental Scientist (Mid-Level

Location:  Remote, US
Compensation: $65,000 – 85,000 depending on qualifications experience

Apex’s Rockies Division is expanding the water resources group and is looking for a Mid-Level Environmental Scientist.  The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail orientated and has the people and technical compliance skills needed to support client projects. 

Your Responsibilities as a Mid-Level Scientist:

• Develop and review environmental regulatory compliance permits and reports including stormwater (construction, industrial, and MS4), SPCC, and dewatering.
• Provide technical oversight and perform project work. Oversee inspection records, stormwater and SPCC diagrams and stormwater control measure maintenance items.
• Analyze environmental legislation and regulations and determine impact on client activities.
• Travel for remote project needs, when necessary, less than 5%.
• Permit projects, facilities, and operations for transportation and warehousing, construction, oil and gas, renewable energy, building management, and municipal clients.
• Define and develop your own professional growth with mentoring from senior managers.

What we’re looking for:

• BS in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or another related field.
• 4+ years of professional experience in consulting or industry.
• Excellent writing and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite are required.
• Proven ability to conduct SPCC and stormwater inspections, monitoring, sampling, and report development for regulatory compliance
• Experience researching, reviewing, and guiding compliance with environmental regulations at a Federal, State and Local level; including SPCC, NPDES &, discharge permitting.
• Ability to successfully multi-task and problem solve while maintaining quality and manage your own time.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, safety awareness, and an understanding of safe work practices.
• Valid driver’s license and a good driving history required.
