Job Description:

The ESCA intern will support the Regional ESCA Lead with roles in program management and business support processes to achieve World Vision International Environmental Sustainability and Climate Action objectives. You will be working in close partnership with ESCA focal points from the country offices and Green Teams leads to plan and execute ESCA activities at all the levels.

Key Objectives:

1.Contribute to the various team or ESCA related project activities under the direction of the WASH & ESCA Regional Director

2.Support the department with the desk reviews, landscape analyses and or secondary data analyses on ESCA and its complements.

3.Support the ESCA lead in organizing and participating in team meetings and country calls with the Country ESCA leads, Green Teams and WARO Green Teams (assisting with meeting preparation, meeting minutes, a post meeting report and follow ups)

4.Support ESCA business development efforts, including conducting background research on the donors in the region and globally, programs, and strategies and developing summaries that highlight the departments capabilities

5.Support the documentation of Regional ESCA achievements and aid in the development of external engagement materials, fact sheets, newsletters etc.

6.Contribute to the ESCA projects related presentations, social media content and blogs, reports and or manuscripts.

7.Support the capacity building of ESCA staff in the region to implement the WVI management policy on Environmental Stewardship.

8.Assist ESCA lead with project related administrative tasks, as needed.

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor degree with experience in a field of WASH, Environment and Natural Resources Management, Social Sciences and/or Humanities.
  • A qualification in Data Analysis and Management may be an added advantage
  • Demonstrated interest in international development or environment and climate change through studies, work experience, and/or personal endeavors
  • Working knowledge of the research principles, technical methods and processes used to conduct a systematic and objective inquiry including methods of data entry, collection and analysis, and summarizing and reporting results; working knowledge of statistics and related information technology.
  • Possesses a satisfactory level of technical skill or knowledge in social development area and keeps up with current developments and trends in area(s) of research
  • High-level conceptual and analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Very strong relational and communication skills.
  • Commitment to World Vision mission and partnership values and sensitivity to its various expressions across cultures and denominations.
  • Must have knowledge in computer applications like MS Office and data base management

Working Environment / Conditions:

  • Work environment: Office Based
  • Travel: 30%, In country when called upon
  • On call: 30%
