Environmental Technician I

The Port of Longview is seeking an Environmental Technician I.

POSITION:  This position is responsible for, including but not limited to, the day-to-day regulatory and permit compliance of the port’s industrial wastewater, stormwater, air emissions, and hazardous waste. This includes conducting sampling, site inspections, documenting issues and implementing best management practices. This position will also conduct air emissions opacity readings when necessary and assist with the Port’s spill prevention, control, and countermeasure plan. This position must effectively communicate, both in writing and verbally, with other port employees to ensure compliance in all permit areas.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: This position requires a minimum of five years of direct experience in wastewater, stormwater management, and hazardous waste, or a bachelor’s degree and one year experience, or an equivalent combination of higher education and two years of experience.
