The State Water Resources Control Board has an opening for a Research Data Specialist III position in the Office of Public Participation. The position is located at 1001 I Street, 13th Floor, Sacramento, CA 95814 right in the heart of downtown next to light rail stations and other public transportation.

Duties:

The Research Data Specialist III serves as the Equity Data Specialist and subject matter expert on developing and implementing equity data analysis methodologies to support equitable outcomes in Water Boards programs and decision-making processes. They lead the collaborative development of methodologies for equity and environmental justice analysis. Additionally, they advise executives and the Board on emerging and historical water-related matters pertinent to disadvantaged communities, frontline communities, communities of color, and California Native American tribes. Their role includes integrating community and tribal perspectives into data strategies in order to facilitate a more inclusive and just approach to water governance and foster partnerships grounded in mutual respect and in alignment with CARE and FAIR data principles.

Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § 599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.

Pay: $7,911.00 – $9,902.00 per month
