Department Summary | System IT is a component of The University of North Texas System. The mission of System IT is simple: to be the best at delivering customer-aligned IT solutions and services. Our services are provided to all member institutions using an IT shared services governance model. System IT provides the primary technology used by all campuses to support their operations. These include: shared resources of data centers, computing hardware, software applications, network and voice communications, collaboration and productivity capabilities, central web services, risk management, and security and compliance services. Position Overview | This position involves direct programming work in both development and maintenance projects and troubleshooting errors. Work is performed with independent judgment, in accordance with established University and System Information Technology department policies and procedures, under the general direction of the Student Administration Resource Managers and Technical Lead of the Student Records System Development Team. |

Job Duties
o | • Translate concepts, information, and functional user feedback into effectively designed programs/processes. |

o | • Write computer programs/processes as assigned by project/resource manager using programming language specified and following UNT programming standards. |

o | • Write computer programs/processes to produce ad-hoc reports, labels and/or data files at the request of the functional users. |
---|
o | • Involve the functional users in the preparation of the test plan that will be used to test and debug each program/process. |
---|
o | • Develop a workable testing and implementation plan with contingency plans that take into account potential problems. |
