Main tasks
- Assist with coordinating OCC children classes.
- Support short-term volunteers in the delivery of classes for children.
- Assist with curriculum and resource development, for children’s classes
- Assist with the administrative aspects of the education program, including the
upkeep of attendance lists. - Teach and facilitate non-formal educational activities for elementary and
secondary-aged children. - Facilitate the short term volunteers in preparation of children classes by
creating / enriching of a pool of interactive activities (art and craft, literacy
games, science games) on a daily basis; - Make sure that motivation and respect are provided to the children’s classes
from teachers under the code of conduct and the safeguarding policies of
OCC.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in primary or secondary education or a related field is
strongly preferred; - Previous experience teaching children, preferably in NGO contexts with
displaced people; - Previous experience with curriculum development is an asset.
- Experience with early childhood practices and working with refugees;
- Organisational and communication skills.
Volunteer requirements established by ESC program (*)
- Candidates must be between 18 and 30 years old.
- To have a legal residence permit in an EU country.
- Never having done an ESC volunteering before.
(*) Candidates that don’t meet these requirements won’t be able to be considered as potential candidates for this volunteer position.

European Solidarity Corps program. - This means that volunteering provides:
- Travel costs coverage: Up to the limits established in the Erasmus+ Guide distance
calculator from the volunteer’s region of residency to our center, and back - Free Accommodation (shared room): Provided in Polykastro. The flat is fully
equipped (kitchen, bathrooms, washing machine, wifi, etc.) - Monthly allowance: 330 euros per month
