Salary: £58-65 DOE
Hours: Monday – Friday 42.5 per week 8.30-5.00Syntech Recruitment Solutions have partnered with a hugely successful business who serve into many industries such as Construction, Waste and much more! We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Surveyor/Estimator to join a prestigious business based.About the Role
You will be responsible for the securing and commercially supporting the delivery of projects, from tender preparation to final account. You will work closely with project teams and support functions to ensure the successful delivery of projects, building strong relationships with clients and the supply chain.Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit tenders for earthworks and enabling works projects
• Analyse tender documents to ensure a full understanding of client requirements
• Conduct site visits to assess project complexity and logistical constraints
• Produce sub-contractor tender packs and negotiate with specialists
• Develop outline method statements for tender submissions
• Take off quantities from drawings to build up accurate tender prices
• Create tender programmes and cost plans, identifying and mitigating commercial risks.
• Prepare detailed tender breakdowns to meet client requirements
• Oversee the handover of secured projects to the operations team
• Maintain accurate work winning reports
• Prepare applications for payment, including valuations and claims
• Agree interim payment amounts with clients and monitor payments
• Develop project budgets in conjunction with management
• Manage the monthly reporting/CVR process
• Source subcontractors, analyse quotations, place orders and manage payments
• Prepare concise commercial reports reflecting project performance and risks/opportunities

About you

• HNC or degree qualified in a construction related subject (desirable)
• Membership of a relevant professional body (desirable)
• Full UK driving licence
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or professional qualification (MRICS or MCIOB) (desirable)
• Extensive experience in an estimating role within the earthworks and enabling works sectors
• Knowledge of earthworks or enabling works methodologies
• Strong commercial awareness with excellent communication skills
• Highly motivated with a keen eye for detail
• Effective teamwork and communication skills at all levels
• Working knowledge of JCT Standard Forms of Contract and similar
• Experience working under pressure
• Proficient in MS Office suite and financial systems
• Experience in a QS role within earthworks and enabling works (desirable)
• Experience in subcontractor procurement
