ABOUT THE COMPANYWant to tender on exciting fit-out projects in the commercial, workspace, and life sciences sectors?Do you have experience tendering on design and build fit-out projects over £10m?Looking for a new challenge?Then this might be the role for you…One of my established clients is looking for a reputable Estimator to join their pre-construction team based in Berkshire.About the company:With a unique portfolio of works, this client is an established name in the fit-out and refurbishment industry carrying out design and build fit-out projects in London, the home counties, Thames Valley, and the Southeast of England. Carrying out high-spec projects in the office, commercial, leisure, and life sciences sectors. Having recently been acquired by an international construction company. My client has the financial backing and capabilities now to take on bigger projects. With an experienced management team that has been with the company for over 25 years – this company has a low labour turnover and seeks to provide all its employees with the necessary environment to get the job done.ABOUT THE ROLEAs an Estimator you will prepare cost estimates for design and build fit-out projects in multiple sectors including life science, office and workspace, and commercial premises. You will work alongside the design team, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure accurate and thorough Estimates. You will have significant experience in the construction industry having ideally worked in the fit-out and refurbishment industry tendering on projects over £10m+.Key responsibilities include preparing detailed cost Estimates and reviewing and interpreting architectural drawings, specifications, and other project documents. Throughout your work, you will work closely alongside the design team to ensure tenders match up to the project scope and requirements. Occasional visits to site will be required to conduct surveys to gather information for estimating purposes. The role is based at my clients’ picturesque offices in Berkshire 5 days a week.REQUIREMENTSThe successful Estimator will have obtained a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field. You will have a minimum of 7 years of experience estimating with 3 of those years being in the design and build sector. You will be proficient in using Microsoft Excel. You will have a strong understanding of the construction methods, materials and costs. You will have good problem-solving skills and good attention to detail.REWARDS AND BENEFITS
