ITS Vice Presidency Context:

Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) enables the WBG to achieve its mission of ending extreme poverty and promote shared prosperity in a sustainable way by delivering transformative information and technologies to its staff working in over 150 locations.

Our vision is to transform how the Bank Group accomplishes its mission through information and technology. In this fast-paced, ever-changing world, the formulation and implementation of the ITS strategy is an ongoing, iterative process of learning and adaptation developed through extensive consultations with business partners throughout the World Bank Group.

ITS shapes its strategy in response to changing business priorities and leverages new technologies to achieve three high-level business outcomes: business enablement, by providing Bank Group units with innovative digital tools and technologies to transform how they deliver value for their clients; empowerment & effectiveness, by ensuring that all Bank Group staff are connected, able to find information, and productive to accelerate the delivery of development solutions globally; and resilience, by equipping the Bank Group to provide risk-based cybersecurity and robust data protection for a global network and a growing cloud platform.

Implementation of the strategy is guided by three core principles. The first is to deliver solutions for business partners that are customer-centric, innovative, and transformative. The second is to provide the Bank Group with value for money with selective and standard technologies. The third principle is to excel at the basics by providing a high performing, robust, and resilient IT environment for the organization.

The Enterprise Authentication Services Team is anchored in the Enterprise Services (ITSEN) division in ITS. The primary programs that the ITSEN unit is responsible for is providing a wide range of technical infrastructure services to meet the institution’s computing needs, including servers, network, supporting software on those platforms, and middleware technologies. It provides engineering, system integration, Identity and Access Management and system administration services.

The department is looking for a dynamic and highly motivated data analyst to join the Identity and Access Management team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of highly skilled, diverse, and technical professionals and contribute to the department priorities. The position will be based in Washington DC.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Collects, cleans, and prepares Identity Access Management (IAM) data from multiple sources, including internal systems, log files, and security tools.

Identifies and reports on trends and patterns to help data-driven decision-making and mitigate security risks.

Develops and maintains dashboards and reports to visualize key IAM metrics, such as user login activity, access requests, and risk scores.

Leverages Azure Cloud (or similar cloud providers) to store and analyze high volumes of data using services like Azure Data Lake Storage and Azure Synapse Analytics.

Utilizes cloud-native databases (Azure MySQL or Amazon Aurora) in conjunction with Data visualization tools like (MS PowerBI / Tableau) to build compelling visualization to drive business action.

Conducts preliminary data analysis using Advanced Excel & SQL.

Automates data analysis and reporting tasks using programming languages like Python or R to improve efficiency.

Communicates findings and insights to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

Creates and maintains materials used in data presentations to share technical information with audiences such as key stakeholders, clients, and potential clients.

Identifies process improvement opportunities with the existing data analysis & reporting workflow.

Provides training and support to end-users on how to use the reports & dashboards.

Respond to ad-hoc data requests and perform other analytical tasks as needed. Supporting initiatives for data integrity and normalization.

Develops, documents, and maintains business requirement documentation (BRD), User guides, and Requirement Traceability Matrix required for Identity Access Management (IAM) program.

Take full project life cycle ownership, from initiation to deployment.

Selection Criteria

Bachelors or Masters Degree with a minimum of 2 years proven experience in Data Analysis, Business Intelligence Analysis, Business Analysis, or relevant area OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience with data visualization tools, such as Power BI or Tableau.

Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets.

Experience analyzing data with cloud computing platforms, such as Azure or AWS.

Development experience with any one of the programming languages (Python, R, or Java)

Experience writing queries to pull and analyze data in SQL.

Experience in Advanced MS Excel (VBA is Plus)

Experience with Agile methodology and tools such as Azure DevOps

Strong understanding & experience in SailPoint’s IdentityIQ

Experience with MS Visio (or similar) tools to design data / process modeling diagrams for effective communication is a plus.

Ability to translate data into actionable insights.

Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Ability to stay up-to-date on the latest data analytics trends and technologies.

Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to translate complex data reports and analysis into actionable recommendations.

Excellent oral and written communications skills and experience interacting with both business and IT individuals.

Creative approach to problem-solving with the ability to focus on details while maintaining the “big picture” view.

Self-starter with outstanding interpersonal skills to track and manage multiple projects.

Desire to learn new technical skills beyond what we use now and help facilitate the knowledge of those skills to others in the team.
