Your team
By accepting the position of European Advisor, at the rank of Attaché, you will join the I² unit (Internationalisation & Innovation – European Programmes) within the IDD department (International Development Department).
I² has 2 main missions:
- NCP Brussels, the National Contact Point in the Brussels-Capital Region (BCR) for the Horizon Europe and Digital Europe programmes, aims to increase Brussels’ participation in the Horizon Europe and Digital Europe programmes;
- EEB – Enterprise Europe Brussels, the Brussels-Capital Region branch of the Enterprise Europe Network, aims to provide information, guidance and support to companies in their international development, through technological partnerships, sustainability, innovation and digitalisation.
The I² team is made up of 10 advisors. It is supported by two assistants and managed by two Heads: one coordinating the NCP Brussels mission and the other the EEB mission.
Your missions
EEN Advisor
- You’ll provide information to SMEs and all types of economic and academic stakeholders in the Brussels-Capital Region on the international development opportunities that the Enterprise Europe Network offers (e.g. Advice, international partnerships, innovation, digitalisation, sustainability);
- You will be proactive in prospecting and growing your portfolio of clients (prioritising SMEs) in the sector allocated to you (e.g. Sustainable development, climate, energy, mobility, smart cities);
- You will help the companies to prepare and take part in matchmaking events organised by the network, and support them in the post-participation follow-up, until the collaborative agreements with their new clients/partners are signed. Where applicable, you will also advise them on the optimisation of their innovation and sustainable transition processes in collaboration with your EEB advisor colleagues;
- You’ll contribute to achieving the objectives and results expected of the Enterprise Europe Brussels mission;
- You will participate in EEB’s information and communication activities (e.g. Website, articles, social media) and in organising seminars, conferences and other I² unit events, in collaboration with colleagues in the team and from other units (logistics, IT, communication).
NCP Horizon Europe
- You’ll provide information to SMEs and all types of economic and academic stakeholders in the Brussels-Capital Region on the opportunities offered by the Horizon Europe programme;
- You will develop a portfolio of clients in your areas of expertise. You will encourage them to participate in this programme, helping them to submit high-quality proposals in response to calls for projects launched throughout the programme cycle. You will guide and support them in setting up, developing, implementing and promoting the results of their project;
- You will work in collaboration with your EEN advisor colleagues, in particular on aspects related to finding partners and promoting results. In this way, you’ll contribute to achieving the objectives and results expected of the NCP Brussels mission;
- You will participate in NCP Brussels’ information and communication activities (website, articles, newsletters, etc.) and in organising seminars, conferences and other I² unit events, in collaboration with colleagues in the team and from other units (logistics, IT, communication).
Management of European projects
- You will manage hub.brussels’ participation in the NCP Climate, Energy and Mobility network, GREENET. This network is a six-year CSA (Coordination and Support Action) developed by and for the NCP Climate, Energy and Mobility in the EU and associated countries, with the support of the European Commission (Horizon Europe);
- You will contribute to the implementation and to monitoring the execution (technical and financial monitoring) of this programme, deadlines, quality, risk and change management, as well as drawing up technical and financial, interim and final reports;
- You will monitor the evolution of the European Commission’s programming in this area and help ensure hub.brussels’ renewed participation in this network project beyond 2028.
Centre of expertise
You represent the interests of hub.brussels, the Brussels Region or Belgium in the governance bodies in which NCPs participate at Belgian and European level and, in collaboration with Innoviris, Belgian NCPs and representatives of other federated entities, you contribute to building Belgium’s positions in Horizon Europe’s Climate, Energy and Mobility programme committee.
Your profile
Exclusive criteria
- You hold a business or corporate finance, or scientific or technological Master’s degree, with an entrepreneurial or European focus;
- If you obtained your diploma abroad, its equivalence must be recognised by one of the communities of the Belgian State;
- You have a minimum of 5 years’ professional experience, including 3 to 5 years’ specific experience acquired in the sectors of sustainable development, climate, energy, mobility or smart cities, or another of the BCR’s priority sectors through activities in:
- Business development;
- Technological research and development; and/or
- Management of H2020 or Horizon Europe projects, or management of EU funding programmes (LIFE, CEF, EU Innovation Fund, COSME, SMP) and/or
- Support for innovative SMEs; and/or
- Entrepreneurial activity in the sectors of sustainable development, climate, energy, mobility or smart cites, or another of the BCR’s priority sectors.
- You are fluent in English (both spoken and written) and in Dutch or French.
Desired criteria
- Knowledge of the Brussels institutional environment, particularly in terms of the economy, research and innovation, and of Brussels R&I stakeholders;
- Knowledge of the European framework programmes, particularly H2020 and Horizon Europe, of their specific objectives, and of other associated programmes;
- Knowledge of project management methodologies;
- A proven interest in science, industry, entrepreneurship, societal issues and technological or non-technological innovation;
- Be prepared to travel for short periods, mainly in Europe.

Our offer
- A full-time, fixed-term contract until 30/09/2025;
- A gross salary according to the grade A101 ABAE scales:
- For 0 years’ experience: 3,873.94 euros;
- For 3 years’ experience: 4,203.89 euros;
- For 6 years’ experience: 4,372.19 euros.
