Evaluation of the application  

Switzerland, in collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Centre for Gender Studies of the University of Bern (IZFG) and IT developer Lucid.Berlin, developed in 2013 a website and a web application – the Women’s Human Rights App (W’sHR App). The W’sHR App is a digital database that provides an easy and free access to international reference instruments and reliable information on women’s rights and gender equality. The app contains more than 140 keywords and over 900 documents related to women’s rights, and gender equality. The App has existed for eleven years, and has been relaunched in 2021. The FDFA would like to conduct at this stage an external evaluation of the App. The main objective of the evaluation is to take stock of the achievements realized with the W’sHR App since 2019 and to assess its relevance and effectiveness. The results of the evaluation should also help the FDFA to determine the follow-up to be given to this application.  

The mandate holder is expected to be familiar with human rights issues and in particular women’s rights and gender equality. He or she must have proven experience and expertise in the evaluation and promotion of applications, in particular the analysis of statistics on Android and Apple systems. The mandate holder must have expertise in communication channels and digital outreach.
