Europe Cares is a young and growing humanitarian organization supporting people on the move and standing up for human rights at the European external borders. We’re based in Frankfurt; on Lesvos, we operate the community center Paréa Lesvos located within walking distance from the CCAC.
Our Events & Actions Intern is responsible for supporting our central team by planning and organizing events in Frankfurt and in the nearby area, including movie nights, panel discussions, fundraising events, art exhibitions, etc. with the aim to raise awareness on the situation for people on the move on the European external borders and shed a light on our work.
You can join us either full-time for 40h a week, or part-time for 20h a week. You can based in Frankfurt or in the nearby region. Your schedule can be flexible; however you will be required to be available at some specific times of the day.
This role can be accounted as an official internship.
Daily tasks
- Designing events aiming to raise awareness and fundraise for EC
- Writing event concepts
- Planning every aspect of the event, including venue, guests, invitations, promotion, food, etc.
- Being the focal point for partners and/or guests of the event
- Being the focal point for local suppliers involved in the event
- Being the focal point for volunteers involved in the event
- Supporting the fundraising team to apply for grants to sponsor the events
- Supporting the central team on the day of the event
What we are looking for
- Based in Frankfurt or nearby area;
- Able to commit for (at least) 3 months;
- Able to commit for a minimum of 20h a week;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English & German;
- (Under-)graduate degree in a relevant field of study;
- Interest in the humanitarian sector, especially migration issues;
- Excellent organization & time management skills;
- Great communication & interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work independently, proactively and collaborate effectively within a team;
- Alignment with the values and mission of Europe Cares.
