The Law Institute of Victoria (LIV) is the state’s peak body for lawyers. Representing more than 19,000 members the LIV’s purpose is to foster the rule of law and to promote improvements and developments in the law as it affects the public of Victoria. The LIV is a non-profit organisation dedicated to its members and the development, maintenance and the sustenance of the law for the benefit of the community.
About the Role:
The Events Coordinator will be responsible for the face to face (F2F), and Virtual design, delivery and evaluation of designated LIV education activities and events within the quality standards, budget, scope and expected delivery times.
The role will have accountability for designated activities within the LIV annual activities calendar, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate all aspects of the activities including experience development, planning, operations, and logistics and enhance processes and quality assurance for an exceptional delivery experience for all stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinate the delivery of activities for the LIV’s professional education program and other networking, social and executive events and live assessment.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders with respect to activity requirements including external venues, speakers, suppliers, sub-contractors, LIV members, and LIV staff.
- Prepare and track multiple income & expenses reports.
- Manage onsite coordination and support of activities.
- Develop and maintain registration websites using online event management software.
- Maintain accurate and up to date member data and registrations so that departments can review and generate reports
- Assisting and responding to member inquiries via phone and email in a timely manner.
- Utilise (this includes set-up and/or willingness to learn how to) event tech platforms such as of Cvent, Slido, Zoom, as required, for the event design.
- Edit recordings of hybrid and remote events (basic editing like top and tail) as per LIV standards.
Knowledge & Skills:
- 1 – 2 years’ experience (highly desirable);
- Professional communication and presence when dealing with stakeholders such as judges and solicitors
- Strong digital skills and knowledge across virtual event platforms eg. Zoom
- Demonstrated strong skills in the design and delivery of virtual events across digital platforms and tools
- Solid grasp over MS Office suite, including Adobe PDF;
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle conflicting priorities; and
- Proven ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
