Events and Project Support Trainee (EFI)
The European Forest Institute (EFI) is an international organisation with 30 member countries and around 130 Associate and Affiliate member organisations. EFI undertakes forest research and policy support at pan-European and global level. The European Forest Institute’s Mediterranean Facility (EFIMED), located in Barcelona, Spain, is currently looking for a candidate to fill an events and project support trainee position.
Responsibilities:
Assist in planning and organizing the 8th Mediterranean Forest Week (MFW) in November 2024.
Support coordination of event registration processes.
Ensure smooth running of events.
Assist in executing Horizon Europe projects, including adapting project data into concise factsheets for knowledge repositories.
Contribute to day-to-day operations of the team.
Learning Opportunities:
Exposure to a multicultural environment and international cooperation on environmental issues.
Enhancement of event organization skills and strategic event management approach.
Networking opportunities at the 8th MFW.
First-hand experience in international research projects like Horizon Europe.
Traineeship Conditions:
Paid monthly traineeship allowance.
Duration: 3-4 months starting September 2024.
Enrollment in a university required for those within the Spanish Social Security system.

Job Requirements:
University degree in communications, environment, or related fields.
Practical experience in event organization.
Fluent in English; knowledge of Spanish or other Mediterranean languages advantageous.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, WordPress, or similar software.
