About the role

This is an exciting and unique opportunity for a motivated, organised and passionate person to join the Civil Law Practice Division at Legal Aid WA, as the Executive Assistant to the Director of Civil Law. The Civil Law Division’s purpose is to assist people, particularly those experiencing entrenched disadvantage, who are vulnerable to civil legal problems, to understand their rights, and empower them to achieve just outcomes. The Executive Assistant provides high level support to the Division Director and the Leadership Team. The person responds to correspondence, inquiries, and requests for information on behalf of the Division Director. The role is fast-paced and often involves managing competing priorities.

The person also provides assistance to the Division on a number of current projects, including the Transforming our Business, information technology replacement project; and the Civil Law Blueprint project, reviewing areas of service delivery. The Executive Assistant maintains the highest professional standards in their actions, behaviours and communications, creating a culture of excellence, and ensuring the smooth functioning of the Civil Division.

  • Working in a legal environment
  • Working at an administrative and / or executive level
  • Have or working towards a legal qualification.

You will also have an understanding of Legal Aid WA’s client base, and be able to demonstrate a commitment to social justice.
