Aspen Leadership Group is proud to partner with Eagle’s Nest
Foundation in the search for an Executive Director.
Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the Executive Director will be
responsible for the administration of the Foundation’s core
programs and will partner with the Board of Trustees to develop
policy and maintain the Foundation’s mission, vision, and strategic
plan. The Executive Director will hire, mentor, and manage staff;
assure the Foundation’s financial viability and non-profit status;
provide fundraising leadership; and engage with the community and
the Foundation’s various stakeholders.
Eagle’s Nest Foundation operates with a mission of providing
experiential education for young people, promoting the natural
world and the betterment of human character. For over 96 years
Eagle’s Nest Foundation has been providing hands-on educational
programs for young people at each developmental stage of childhood
from age 6 to 17. The three programs it supports—Eagle’s Nest Camp,
The Outdoor Academy, and Hante Adventures—are intentionally
designed to work together, offering a progression of learning. Each
program can also stand alone as a unique experience. These programs
encourage participants’ connection to, and responsible action
within, the natural world and build the participants’ understanding
of self within their community.
Nestled in the mountains of North Carolina, Eagle’s Nest Camp
encourages the development of the whole child in a compassionate,
encouraging community. Days are filled with activities that promote
curiosity, creativity, independence, and growth. As a Western North
Carolina summer camp, Eagle’s Nest provides school age children the
opportunity to slow down and experience friendship and joyful
living while immersing themselves in nature. In this inclusive
community, campers are treated with respect and kindness. They are
valued for the unique people they are.
Cognizant of societal inequalities, Eagle’s Nest Foundation is
committed to attracting, welcoming, and serving people of diverse
cultures, ethnicities, faiths, identities, and socioeconomic
backgrounds. Its community ethos fosters belonging, self-awareness,
respect, honesty, empathy, inclusion, and equity. It strives to
honor the perspectives and traditions of all members of the
community it serves.
All applications must be accompanied by a cover letter and résumé.
Cover letters should be responsive to the mission of Eagle’s Nest
Foundation as well as the responsibilities and qualifications
presented in the prospectus. Eagle’s Nest
Foundation will consider candidates with a broad range of
backgrounds. A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of
education and experience and at least seven years of experience in
program administration, boarding environment supervision, and
