Overview. Best Chance is a peer-led,
clinically-supervised, 501(c)3 non-profit walk-in Wellness Center
located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We help formerly incarcerated
men and women, homeless individuals, and people experiencing
serious behavioral issues and/or brain injuries. The main work of
Best Chance is performed by our Peer Support Workers. Best Chance
recently received two large grants which more than doubled its
annual revenue. It anticipates adding a second walk-in center in
Las Cruces, NM. It continues to pursue additional grants,
particularly in collaboration with other service providers and
governmental agencies. The organization’s key values include
unconditional positive regard of all program participants, and
continuous improvement in all administrative and program functions.
Compensation is salaried with health and retirement benefits. The
salary range is $70,000-$95,000. For additional information, go to

Qualifications. The Executive Director
must have: (i) prior knowledge and experience in non-profit
management and resource development; (ii) excellent writing skills;
(iii) an ability and eagerness to work with others of all ranks and
positions; (iv) comfort with and eagerness for public speaking and
professional engagements; (v) an enthusiasm for improving the
quality of life of men and women who have recently been released;
and (vi) a demonstrated ability to oversee the financial matters of
a medium-sized and growing non-profit.
Responsibilities. The Executive
Director is responsible for continuous improvement,
culture-setting, development, engagement, financial management,
operations and programming. The Executive Director implements Board
policies and directives. Additionally, the Executive Director
manages the organization and its staff. The Executive Director
reports to the President of the Board and is evaluated by the Board
of Directors.
