The Trinidad Coast Land Trust seeks a collaborative, versatile and strategic Executive Director dedicated to providing coastal access while protecting the natural beauty and character of the Humboldt County Coast from Little River to Big Lagoon.
This role is an exceptional opportunity for a strategic leader to continue advancing TCLT on its path of success and growth in preserving our beautiful coast for all to enjoy. TCLT seeks candidates with strong organizational skills and well-developed abilities for interpersonal, written and verbal communications, who are able to lead a small, dedicated team in working effectively with a broad range of stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have leadership experience in a non-profit, including proven success in fundraising, community engagement, event planning, and staff supervision.
About Us
Trinidad Coastal Land Trust (TCLT) owns and manages 11 properties and 16 conservation easements, providing public access to the Trinidad Coast while protecting the natural beauty of the area. In addition to land conservation, TCLT sponsors numerous outreach activities to engage our community, such as monitoring seabirds and pinnipeds, leading stewardship workdays, guiding educational walks, and engaging with local artists.
Organizational momentum
In February 2025, TCLT was proud to open to the public the results of the Tepona Point Public Access Improvement Project. Then in April 2025, with generous funding from the California State Coastal Conservancy, TCLT launched the Moonstone Beach Coastal Resilience and Public Access Planning Project. Other ongoing projects include Marine Wildlife Monitoring and with grant support from the Bureau for Land Management, invasive plant species removal on Trinidad Head.
Role Overview
This is a full-time, exempt position with benefits. The Executive Director’s anticipated annual salary range is $80,000 – $90,000, commensurate with knowledge, abilities and experience.
