Victoria University (VU)  is seeking an exceptional, commercially minded, and motivated leader with experience in asset strategy development through to execution and delivery. This role will lead a reframed approach to the management of VU’s infrastructure for the purpose of: 

  • Revitalising our campus network across the west of Melbourne and the CBD
  • Delivering the best quality infrastructure solutions for our learning and teaching and research
  • Adapting our economic model for infrastructure and operational expenditure
  • Activating our campus sites to become a catalyst for precinct and urban renewal and industry and community engagement.

The Opportunity:

The Executive Director, Infrastructure and Major Capital Projects will lead the development of Victoria University’s Infrastructure Plan to support the Universities objectives, working closely with the University Council and the executive team.  Importantly, this role will also have the imprimatur to drive the implementation of executable plans and delivery of major capital programs. The Executive Director, Infrastructure and Major Capital Projects will provide high quality, evaluative thinking and evidence informed analysis and authoritative advice on strategic infrastructure matters.

The Executive Director, Infrastructure and Major Capital Projects is responsible for working with key internal and external stakeholders, to develop the estate strategy, undertaking the necessary commercial, financial, and technical planning to execute and building institutional capability in doing this whilst managing risk. The Executive Director, Infrastructure and Major Capital Projects leads a team of professionals in capital planning, design, and delivery as well as real estate management.
