Founded in 2003, CFC is a 501(c)3 organization with headquarters in Austin, TX and operations in Cambodia. Our mission is to educate a generation of Cambodian children today, to make a difference for Cambodia’s tomorrow. Our long-term goals are:
• To make higher education an attainable choice throughout Cambodia
• To improve early childhood education across the country
• To create a sustainable system that will be run and funded by Cambodia
Position
The Executive Director (ED) will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for CFC’s global staff, programs, expansion, and execution of its mission. The Executive Director directly oversees all staffing needs, communications and development and is also involved in creating and executing CFC’s annual fundraising plan. This position reports to the CFC Board of Directors.
Responsibilities
1) Leadership & Management:
• Oversight of all CFC strategy, planning, and activities
• Supervise staff and volunteers, including Development Director, Cambodia Programs Director, Operations Director, and Finance Director
2) Organization Mission and Strategy: Work with board and staff to ensure that
the mission is fulfilled through programs, strategic planning and community
outreach
• Work with the board to align priorities and resources
• In conjunction with the Board, create and implement annual budgets, development strategy and Strategic Plans
• Maintain knowledge and awareness of best practices in education, leadership and Cambodian NGO effectiveness
3) Fundraising & Communications:
• Expand fundraising strategy and activities
• Use external presence and relationships to develop new opportunities
• Develop and maintain relationships with key donors
• Deepen and refine all aspects of communications from web presence to external relations across US, Cambodia, and Singapore target communities
4) Organization Operations:
• Responsible for effective administration of U.S. and Cambodian operations
• Manage the budget and financial support of the Cambodia programs
• Help recruit, supervise and promote a volunteer community in the U.S., Cambodia, and Singapore
The ED will be thoroughly committed to CFC’s mission. All candidates must have proven leadership, operations, and relationship management experience:
• At least 7 years senior nonprofit leadership experience
• Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach staff, manage, and develop high-performance teams, set and achieve, strategic objectives, and manage a budget across remote teams and diverse cultures
• Proven success in implementing fundraising strategies and donor relations
• Past success working with a Board of Directors with the ability to cultivate existing board member relationships
• Experience in international development and/or education, preferably in Cambodia
• Action- and detail-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative approach to business planning and impact
• Passion, idealism, integrity, positive attitude mission-driven, and self-directed
• Ability to convey a vision of CFC’s strategic future to staff, board, volunteers and donors
• Khmer language and culture skills a plus
